There are two ways the women of New York compete on the Miss New York and Miss New York’s Teen Stage. You can sign up for, compete in, and win a local competition or, if there are no local competitions that fit your schedule or eligibility, you can apply for an open title using the instruction at the bottom of this page! Before competing, we recommend you look at our one-pager for the expectations of 2026 titleholders.
Local Organizations
The number of official local programs change each year. These competition are held between September 1st and January 31st and are closed to contestants from specific regions in the State. Keep watch here and on our social media pages for local competition announcements.
The winners of a local competition will receive an official Miss America local sash and crown, and often receive coverage for room fees at State and scholarship awards. You have a board of directors who helps prepare you for the state competition and connects you to your community. See below for our current locals, the titles they offer, and contact information.

Open Title Applications
Open titles for Miss New York and Miss New York’s Teen are awarded through an all-digital application, which include an evaluation of your resume, social impact essay and a video of your talent, as well as a zoom interview with a panel of judges (7 minutes for teens, 10 for miss). Applications will open on September 25th and close on January 25th. There are a few steps, and we hold interviews on a rolling basis.
Step 1
Complete the same steps to compete as you would for a local: Register for Club America (choose open / at large), create your spotfund profile and raise $30, and sign the local contract.

Step 2
When you fill out the application, choose which day you would like to do your online panelist interview. The options for the 2025/26 cycle are:
- October 25th
- November 29th
- December 20th
- January 31st
Step 3
Send us your paperwork, headshot, and talent video. these items, as well as your $30 fundraising through spotfund, must be completed the Sunday prior to your interview.
Step 4
Show up for your interview ready to take on the world! All applicants will be notified of a decision within one week of their interviews, at which time you choose your title, pay the entry fee, and order a crown (optional).
