State Delegate Contract

All delegates must have a completed contract to compete. This will require the following attachments:

  • Contract Body (Download Here)
  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Proof of Age
  • Proof of Geographic Eligibility (Either (2) proofs for residency, (1) proof for enrollment, or (1) proof for employment).

If you are applying for an open title, select “- Open Title -” from the local drop down list.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CONTRACT BODY

You must submit a complete contract using the instructions below. The underlined text is exactly what should be entered in the fields. 

Section 1.1

  • The ‘Organization’ is Miss New York Scholarship Competition, Inc.
  • The ‘State’ is New York

Section 1.2

  • The ‘Competition’ is either Miss New York or Miss New York’s Teen

Section 2.3.3

  • This should be your current age and your birthdate, including the year

Section 2.4.1

  • IF YOU ARE CLAIMING RESIDENCY as your form of eligibility, enter New York for the ‘State of’ and your county of residence in the next field. Otherwise write N/A

  • Include your full name and SIGN THE DOCUMENT. this can be a digital signature.
  • The State Organization Legal Name is Miss New York Scholarship Competition, Inc.
  • Do not type or sign a State Director signature. Leave this blank.

  • To be completed by a legal parent/guardian if the contestant is under 18 years of age at the time of contract signing.

Section 2.3.1 - Proof of Citizenship​

All delegates are required to provide proof of US Citizenship. Any of the following are acceptable

  • Birth Certificate
  • U.S. Passport
  • Naturalized Citizenship Certification

Section 2.3.3 - Proof of Age​

All delegates are required to provide proof of age. Any of the following are acceptable

  • Birth Certificate
  • U.S. Passport
  • Valid Driver's License

Section 2.4 - Proof of Geographic Eligibility​

All delegates are required to provide proof of eligibility based on their geographic location. This can be in the form of Residency, Employment, or Enrollment in the qualifying geographic region. The type of proof required depends on the type of eligibility you are claiming. 

Section 2.4.1 - Residency

You have lived in the qualifying region for at least sixty (60) days prior to the local competition, or if you are an open delegate you have been a resident of New York State for at least sixty (60) days prior to the State Competition.

Two of the documents below must be submitted for proof of residency. If you are a teen, documents in your parents name are acceptable.

  • Driver's License
  • Voter registration card
  • Current lease/mortgage
  • Current utility bill
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Renter's / Homeowner's Insurance Statement
  • Federal Student Loan correspondences

If you have documents other than those listed above that you believe adequately prove your residency (has your name, a date, and your address), please send a copy to our assistant director, ashley@miss-newyork.org for approval

Attachment must be a PDF. Name your files "Firstname Lastname_Residency 1.pdf" and "Firstname Lastname_Residency 2.pdf."

Section 2.4.2 - Employment

You have been employed full time (an average of 30 hours/week or more) in the qualifying region for at least thirty (30) days prior to your local competition or, if you are an open delegate, you have been employed full time (an average of 30 hours/week or more) in New York State for at least thirty (30) days prior to the State Competition.

One of the following must be submitted as your proof of employment:

  • A note from your employer declaring your eligibility based on the above requirements
  • Copy of 30 days worth of pay stubs
  • W-2 form
  • Income tax filing

If you have documents other than those listed above that you believe adequately prove your employment, please send a copy to our assistant director, ashley@miss-newyork.org for approval. Please make sure you are aware of/redact sensitive information like social security numbers.

Section 2.4.3 - Enrollment

You are enrolled full time (as defined by the school) at an accredited college or university located in the qualifying region. You must still be enrolled as a full time student on the first day of the State Competition unless you have graduated. You must attend courses in person to use enrollment for eligibility.

One of the following must be submitted as your proof of enrollment:

  • Official Transcript
  • Official Proof of Enrollment
  • Letter from the Registrar's office confirming your enrollment
