Scholarship Extension Request

If you do not need your scholarships yet you can file an extension request. Extension requests are separated by STATE crowning year. The State crowning year includes the State competition and the local competitions leading to that year's Miss New York or Miss New York's Teen competition. If you competed in multiple crowning years you can file an extension for them simultaneously by filling out the proper fields below.

Extension requests must be submitted by July 1st of the crowning year they were awarded. Funds you earned as a Teen Delegate may be extended annually for up to 5 years. Funds you earned as a Miss Delegate may be extended annually for up to 2 years. See the example below:

Example: Nina (a Teen Scholarship recipient) received various scholarship grants at the Miss New York's Teen Scholarship Competition in May 26, 2020. Nina may request her scholarship or an extension at any time before or on July 1, 2021. If an extension is granted by the Foundation, Nina will keep access to her funds until July 1, 2022. If she would like to request another extension, she may, but she must include the letter or email approving the original extension request. Nina can continue to submit extension requests to keep her funds available for a total of 5 years after the date she won them and must include copies of all previously approved requests. Any unused funds will officially be forfeited July 2, the year after the last extension request was received.
